Position Overview  

The Product Line Manager for the Manduka apparel line is the brand captain on every aspect. You're charged with ownership of building the market, creation and execution of business plans while achieving seasonal sales, margin goals, and calendar adherence while interfacing with cross-functional teams.

The PLM owns relevant business information on the consumer and competition, assists the VP of Product in identifying trends, business strategy plans and analysis and works with the VP of Marketing to bring the product to market and drive demand. You are fully engaged in the yoga community and passionate about bringing innovative product to market for the inner Yogi in everyone. 

Responsibilities 

In the role, you will: 

  • Manage the product line life cycle from strategic planning to tactical activities
  • Merchandising of the seasonal line to ensure product offering services the needs of the business
  • Be responsible for all financial line plans for area of responsibility including achieving profit margin goals
  • Write executable seasonal product briefs targeting opportunity and competitive set
  • Be strategic in identifying the product and market "white space"
  • Present product information to key internal and external groups in a comprehensive, clear and tactical manner. Comes armed with research, data points and preparedness on category lines
  • Drive best processes and maintains seasonal calendar 
  • Partner with Sales, Demand Plan and Production in an effort to build commercially viable product line
  • Assist Marketing team to help coordinate and develop category initiative for selling and marketing tools
  • Actively participate in (but not responsible) for product development cycle and to execute sample/prototype/production
  • Support product team and additional departments as needed
  • Build and maintains relationships with all functional areas
  • Drives key marketing seasonal strategies in partnership with marketing team. Acts as the brand manager and voice for all categories - across web, social media, gifting, and community events
  • Represent the brand and builds external relations through product education at industry events
  • Manage, maintain and distribute all product information of assigned category encompassing hang tags, workbooks, product copy, line lists and financials
  • Examine, track and report success and failure of the company's products on the marketplace and determine reasons for success/failure 

Qualifications  

What you'll need: 

  • A micro and macro perspective on apparel
  • Influence: you're able to build positive partnerships with cross functional teams
  • Excellent communicator and presentation skills
  • Extensive knowledge (and passion) of the yoga product market and related businesses
  • Forward thinking and strategic skills; You're innovative and results oriented
  • Retail math skills
  • Solid in Excel and have dabbled in Illustrator and Photoshop
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, projects and calendars
  • Experience in merchandising/buying
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, business, apparel or related field
  • 7 - 10 years of relevant experience
  • Ability to clearly articulate policies and instructions
