Position Overview

Solectria Renewables, America's leading manufacturer of high power photovoltaic inverters for solar applications, is seeking a Compliance and Regulatory Engineer to join a driven and innovative team working in a fast paced and challenging high technology environment. Responsibilities

  • Participate in the design and review of products to satisfy required safety, EMC, and grid interface standards for North America, South America, Europe and Asia
  • Stay abreast of a rapidly changing regulatory landscape, to ensure ongoing compliance of the company's products.
  • Lead qualification and certification efforts of new and legacy products through the following:
  1. Establish and maintain effective relationships with testing agencies such as ETL, UL, and CSA.
  2. Create, manage, and execute verification plans.
  3. Perform hands on verification testing in safety, EMC, and grid interface areas.
  • Manage critical items lists for components that impact safety and EMC compliance.
  • Ensure ongoing compliance to standards in manufacturing processes.
  • Participate in third party agency audits.
  • Conduct regular training classes for engineering and sales teams on compliance issues affecting the company.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • BSEE and minimum of 2 years related experience.
  • Experience with UL1741, IEEE 1547, UL1699B, IEC 62109, UL1998, UL991, NEC, FCC and CEC.
  • Excellent background in safety system design and certification.
  • Background in software safety compliance such as UL1998 a huge plus.
  • Knowledge of Grid Interconnect requirements such as Rule 21, Rule 14H, Smart grid functions, etc.
  • Prior experience with ISO 17025 (Data Acceptance Program, Satellite lab, etc.)
  • Hands on experience performing product compliance testing.
  • Ability to rapidly gain mastery of new compliance standards as business needs dictate.
  • Outstanding work ethic and positive attitude required.
  • A high level of initiative and a proactive nature.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work as a leader or individual contributor, depending upon assignment.
  • Occasional travel is required.
