~ M?lama Maunalua is a community non-profit organization restoring the health of Maunalua Bay ~ 

The science is clear that in order to restore the Bay we must remove the invasive alien algae, reduce the run-off of sediment and pollutants from the land into the Bay and increase the marine life. Every project we undertake is aimed at one of these three targets. 

Position Overview  

Malama Maunalua seeks a Full-Time Communication Coordinator. 

Responsibilities  

  • The Communication Coordinator will work with the Executive Director and others with the marine conservation nonprofit to develop and implement strategies for communication with key constituencies.
  • The Coordinator will oversee brand consistency, coordination of messages and external communications. 

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in marketing, English/journalism, or related communications field
  • 2-3 years of marketing, communication, media or public relations experience
  • Excellent written and verbal skills
  • Creative thinking and problem solving skills
  • Demonstrated interest in the environment and marine conservation
  • Ability to work effectively with multiple individuals and manage several projects at once
  • Experience with database software
  • Salary commensurate with experience 

Required Experience: 

  • Marketing, Communications, Media or Public Relations: 2 years
