~ Launched in 1942, The Foster Creek Conservation District (FCCD) is located in North Central Washington in Douglas County. ~
One of 47 Districts in the state, the FCCD is mandated under the Revised Code of Washington 89.08 to develop and administer voluntary, non-regulatory programs to conserve natural resources. Governed by a board of volunteer supervisors from the local community, the Foster Creek Conservation District identifies local conservation problems, guides voluntary local solutions, and sets policies where needed.
Position Overview
The Foster Creek Conservation District is seeking a highly motivated individual to fill a Resource Specialist position. The Foster Creek Conservation District is a dynamic organization comprised of volunteer board members and paid staff members that are leaders in "on the ground conservation."
We seek individuals that will complement our highly productive, energetic, and skilled staff to deliver quality conservation programs to Douglas County residents.
Responsibilities
- We are seeking to fill a Resource Specialist position to implement the districts Direct Seed Program and restoration/enhancement efforts on private lands.
- All projects involve natural resource related issues and have been identified as priority actions in the District's Long Range, Annual and/or specific plans.
- The incumbent in this position will work closely with local landowners, coworkers, conservation partners, to implement the district Direct Seed Program and restoration/enhancement efforts.
- The Foster Creek Foster Creek Conservation District is primarily grant funded and the incumbent of this position will be required to develop additional grants for continued funding and program implementation.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor's Degree involving a major study in environmental or physical science.
- 1 of the natural sciences or other closely related field.
- 1 year of professional level experience is preferred.
Compensation: The incumbent will be a salaried employee earning $20 - $23 per hour. They will also be eligible for District benefits package which includes medical, dental and vision insurance, 12 paid holidays per year, annual and sick leave.
