Assistant Professor of Renewable Energy

We have an additional 118 part-time graduate students on the AU campus, and 189 part-time graduate students enrolled in our downstate program. The minority population is about 12%. 

Our 232 acre campus has more than 50 academic and residential buildings. Residential, student-centered, vibrant living/learning community. Plus another 400 acres of nearby recreational land. 

Located in Alfred, New York, the village in the foothills of the Allegheny Mountains is about an hour west of Corning, an hour and a half south of Rochester and two hours from Buffalo. 

Position Overview  

Alfred University is seeking to fill the position of Assistant Professor of Renewable Energy. This tenure-track appointment begins in the fall of 2015.

The Inamori School of Engineering prepares students to solve tomorrow's problems. Students have access to our equipment, labs and faculty in small classes, while achieving a global perspective to meet the challenges of an ever-changing world.  

Qualifications

Requirements: 

• The candidate must have a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related field.
• Must also be able to teach a wide range of undergraduate engineering courses, as well as be able to serve as a mentor for undergraduate engineering students. 

Experience: 

• Candidates with experience in Power Systems, Energy Systems, load forecasting, energy storage, power generation and control, Energy Markets, or fields relating to renewable system are preferred.
• Others may be considered.
