~ South Coast Solar is one of the largest solar integrators in the Southeast United States. SCS is a residential, commercial, and governmental design/build firm focused in the field of photovoltaic systems and large solar thermal. ~
Our mission is to empower home owners and businesses to take control of their energy usage. We do this through energy efficiency evaluations followed by smart solutions; by providing renewable energy with advanced solar power systems and by offering natural gas generator systems.
Position Overview
We are currently looking for Experienced PV Installers to work in the field of solar electric system installation.
Responsibilities
- Measure and layout solar array based on construction drawings;
- Proper installation and sealing of all roof penetrations;
- Assembling the racking and solar array;
- Fill out job paperwork documenting materials used and as built drawings;
- Perform benchmarking calculations and reporting;
- Install and commission internet based performance monitoring;
- Perform trenching with machinery when necessary;
- Travel out of town when necessary; and
- Work a minimum of 40 hours per week.
Qualifications
Desired Skills and Experience:
- Previous Solar Installation Experience required;
- Have full range of mobility in upper and lower body;
- Must have electrical and/or roofing experience;
- Ability to work in various positions, including, but not limited to, stooping, standing, bending over, sitting, kneeling and squatting for extended periods of time;
- Must be able to work in direct sunlight for extended periods;
- Able to work on rooftops and from ladders in a safe manner;
- Be able to lift, pull and push materials and equipment to complete assigned job tasks;
- Be able to lift 50 pounds of weight frequently throughout assigned workday;
- Attention to detail;
- Must have and maintain valid driver's license;
- Documentation skills;
- Professional appearance and client interaction; and
- Construction related experience.
Preferred Assets (Not Required):
- OSHA 10 hour certification
- OSHA 30 hour certification
- NABCEP Certificate of Knowledge
- NABCEP Installer Certification
- Journeyman Electricians License
- Other solar training
- Manlift certified operator
