Operations Supervisor, Wind

Position Overview

Brookfield Renewable Power Inc. currently seeks a Supervisor of Operations, Wind.

Requirements

• Practice safe work habits and follow correct safety policies and procedures. Immediately act upon incorrect procedures when witnessed and, if necessary, stop the work or procedure.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory licenses, permits, and codes of operation and conduct.
• Identify and repair, as necessary electrical and mechanical including analytical problem solving/troubleshooting.
• Work with Brookfield crews or maintenance contractors to repair identified maintenance/operational problems to improve unit availability and station uptime.
• Perform complex maintenance testing, troubleshooting and repair of systems in relation to the substation, transformers and servers.
• Assist the Operations manager with the coordination of the safe, efficient operation repair and maintenance of Brookfield Wind Turbines, facilities, equipment and machinery.
• Provide guidance to the Operations manager, Technician(s) and operator(s) as needed, with regard to the safe maintenance and operation of Brookfield Wind Farms.
• Monitor and report on equipment quality issues per factory requirements and Brookfield specifications.
• Perform station, unit operations and preventive maintenance tasks as required to maintain turbine availability.
• Responsible for communication cataloging equipment field changes for related files/drawings and documentation to Operations manager.

Qualifications

• 5-7+ yrs of Wind Turbine Supervisory Experience.
• 4 year degree in Electrical Engineering or Engineering Technology.
• Trade School, Wind Turbine School, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Experience with repair and maintenance of wind turbine systems and related equipment is preferred as follows: electrical, mechanical, hydraulic as well as PLC programming and troubleshooting skills and ability to perform related essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodations.
• High voltage transmission and distribution knowledge and experience.
• Ability to read and understand electrical and mechanical drawings and schematics.
• Hold a valid US Drivers License.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of Windows based software including Outlook, Excel, Word and Access.
• Experience with related mechanical and electrical OSHA safety standards.
• Ability to climb 300' towers on a daily basis.
• Desire to learn and take on new challenges.
• Be available, as necessary, for after hour "call-ins."
• First Aid and CPR certified, will be provided during orientation if not current.
• Be able to produce reports per the requirements set forth in the PPA and LGIA and other regulatory authorities.
