~ DB Environmental, Inc. (DBE) provides environmental consulting, research and laboratory services for government and private clients from offices located in Rockledge and West Palm Beach, Florida. ~
- DBE specializes in conducting high-quality wetland biogeochemical and ecological monitoring and research.
Position Overview
DBE is currently accepting applications for field research assistant positions.
Responsibilities
Become part of DBE's team in supporting:
- Everglades restoration.
- Research and development into "green technologies."
- Diagnostic and restoration studies in wetlands and lakes.
Duties include:
- Assisting in the design and conduct of water quality studies.
- The conducting or leading routine collection of water, soil and vegetation samples from South Florida wetlands.
Qualifications
Applicant must have:
- A Bachelor of Science degree in biology, botany, biochemistry, or an environmental science-related field.
- A minimum of 4 years experience working in wetland environments, preferably in South Florida.
- Knowledge of the scientific method and experimental design and ability to record organized and detailed field notes.
- Capacity to independently evaluate and apply techniques and procedures conforming to Florida Department of Environmental Protection QA standards in field sampling situations.
- The ability to work effectively under adverse field and weather conditions and lift 50 pounds.
Preference given to applicants with:
- Familiarity with the South Florida ecosystem and issues.
- Experience operating off-road vehicles; experience operating or working on airboats.
Compensation: Compensation for the field research assistant position is based on individual experience and qualifications. Full-time employees are eligible for vacation, health and retirement benefits.
