~ Washington Wild is a conservation organization for Washington State. Since our founding in 1979 we have been instrumental in the protection of over 1 million acres of Wilderness.  ~

We work to educate, advocate, and engage the public in Wilderness protection, which includes working with nontraditional conservation allies. Our Washington Brewshed® Alliance allows us to engage breweries and the brewing community in conservation through a basic message: good water makes better beer.

Position Overview 

This internship is designed to assist the Outreach Coordinator in research, event planning, outreach, and other responsibilities pertaining primarily to the Washington Brewshed® Alliance.

The time requirement for this postion is 20 hours per week, and runs from late April or early May through early August.

Responsibilities

  • Research watersheds, drainages, brewery and city water supplies
  • Attendance and engagement during Brewshed® events
  • Assist with event planning and management
  • Assist with volunteer recruitment and management as instructed
  • Help in production and revision of Brewshed® event materials
  • Complete tasks as instructed by Outreach Coordinator or other staff as designated

Qualifications 

  • Event or project planning experience
  • Strong researching skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong written and spoken communication skills
  • Familiarity with Brewer's festivals, beer, and beer community 
  • Familiarity with Washington geography preferred
  • Familiarity with conservation issues 
  • Ability to read maps to determine water sources and draining patterns
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a small team
  • Independent and creative thinker
  • Must be over 21 years of age
  • Ability to work evening events including: May 15th and July 31st 
  • Marketing experience is a plus, but not required
