ASP works with unions and their members to sell only union-made solar panels made in the United States and installed by union workers.
Position Overview
ASP has openings for energetic people with organizing, campaign, or business development experience and an active interest in renewable energy/environmental issues.
This is a NYSERDA PON 2033 OJT Position. This position offers extensive training and a hands on immersion in the practical aspects of solar, including design and installation, as well as the economic and policy aspects of solar power.
The position is full time and offers a competitive starting salary. Training is provided. American Solar Partners is a progressive solar company with competitive benefits, a flexible schedule and a teamwork based work environment. ASP is located in Mt. Vernon NY.
Responsibilities
Employee duties include:
- Explaining solar power to customers, setting appointments, explaining financing options, and managing projects to completion.
- Staff must have the ability to guide/hand-hold customers through the process of acquiring a solar power system for their home or building.
Qualifications
- Community or political organizing experience desired;
- Outreach experience such as door to door canvassing or telemarketing experience a plus;
- Excellent oral communications skills;
- Strong interpersonal skills; comfortable with a wide range of types of people;
- Must be results oriented with a diplomatic and professional approach to problem solving; and
- Ability to manage several tasks/projects concurrently and prioritize work.
