Founded in 1973, Ipas is a global nongovernmental organization dedicated to ending preventable deaths and disabilities from unsafe abortion. Through local, national and global partnerships, Ipas works to ensure that women can obtain safe, respectful and comprehensive abortion care, including counseling and contraception to prevent future unintended pregnancies.  

Every minute of every day, women who do not have access to safe abortion care take great risks to end unintended pregnancies. Many lose their lives. Others suffer serious, often permanent injuries. Ipas is dedicated to saving women's lives by preventing unsafe abortion. Working with local partners around the world, Ipas works to improve women's access and right to safe, high-quality abortion care and reproductive health services. 

Position Overview:

IPAS is seeking a Senior Sustainable Supply Advisor to work in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.   

Responsibilities:

  • Provides supply-related technical assistance to in-country teams including implementing supply-improvement tools and strategies, developing in-country workshops, problem solving, project management, assistance with vendors, and influencing ministries
  • Develops supply-related tools and resources, builds capacity of and provides technical support to in-country teams
  • Leads Ipas's external representation, related to commodity supply, with international working groups and colleague agencies including representing Ipas at conferences and working group meetings, delivering panel presentations, publishing journal articles, blog posts, and abstracts
  • Develops strategies related to sustainable supply, compiles Ipas global results, and analyzes trends for sustainable supply of reproductive health commodities in Ipas' country programs
  • Leads Ipas's operational support of technology availability in program countries and coordinates strategies and programmatic efforts to achieve availability of reproductive health commodities within supply and distribution channels in Ipas countries
  • Manages Ipas's MVA distribution contract with WCG
  • Monitors achievement of deliverables by WCG seconded staff 

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree required (MPH, MPA, MBA, or related field)
  • 9-10 years of experience
  • 5 or more years of experience with supply chain and distribution systems
  • Experience working in a non-profit organization
  • Management training or experience
  • Ability to travel 10%
