Position Overview:
The Recycle Procurement Representative is responsible for ethically and professionally representing Rock-Tenn in the recycling market place. This requires developing and fostering sound customer/supplier relationships based on total customer satisfaction.
A Recycle Procurement Representative evaluates a customer's recycling needs and offers solutions to fulfill those needs while striving to generate and maintain plant profitability. Prospecting for new business with printers, converters, packers, grocery stores and multi-tenant office buildings is a primary function of this position.
We are seeking an individual with a deal-making skill set that can be used in acquiring new clients as well as increasing value of existing accounts. The ideal candidate will have experience cold-calling, developing relationships, structuring deals and managing cost/profit. This position is also a great opportunity to manage a procurement region, get exposure to plant operations and be in the talent pool for future management opportunities. Significant growth opportunities exist.
Travel in the Louisville, KY territory and beyond to seek out, establish and maintain quality sources to purchase recyclables for the RockTenn recycle plant in Louisville, KY. This is a full time career position and requires a high energy well organized person. The successful candidate will become an expert on recycling issues and a public face for RockTenn in the market place.
Responsibilities:
- Establish and maintain relationships with scrap paper, and multi material suppliers.
- Speak and participate at various recycling related meetings are seminars.
- Price each account monthly and review receipts for accuracy before submitting to payables.
- Understand RockTenn's capabilities relating to scrap paper by regularly visiting with RockTenn the mill, receiving, and sales personnel.
Qualifications:
- College education preferred or 5 years work experience related to sales and customer service.
- Recycle experience highly preferred.
- Ability to write and verbally communicate effectively; excellent platform skills required.
- Experienced and comfortable with Microsoft word, excel, outlook and power point.
- Must be capable and comfortable making cold calls to suppliers.
- Have the math ability to calculate cost related material and transportation.
- Must be able to travel daily with 5% overnight travel possible.
