Position Overview:

The Intensive Coordinatr carries responsibility for logistics and support of monthly Intensive, including student, faculty, and staff lodging and meals.

This is a fulltime & exempt Grade 3 position that reports to the Director of Student Services and works at the BGI Seattle Campus. 

Responsibilities:

Events

  • Provides logistics, administrative support, and functional coordination for all Hybrid Program Monthly Intensives. 
  • Coordinates monthly intensive housing for faculty/staff.
  • Facilitates onsite check-in-at monthly intensive.
  • Supports incoming guests and lecturers as needed.
  • Creates monthly schedule for intensive.
  • Provides onsite logistical and technical support as needed.
  • Supports other events associated with Intensives.

  • Exercises an ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with faculty, students, staff, professional peers and the public.
  • Able to work effectively alone from a remote setting.

Strong technical skill set

  • Demonstrated ability to operate in a Microsoft operating environments.
  • Competent with Microsoft Suite.
  • Ability to learn and then troubleshoot classroom technology setup.

Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Highly developed social skills and the ability to work effectively with many personality types.
  • Excellent problem solving skills.
  • Ability to listen carefully and incorporate that learning in communications and problem solving.

Familiarity with social media platforms

  • Experience with the use of social media in an academic or business environment preferred.

Well organized

  • Develops and adheres to consistent structure for document labeling, filing, retention and retrieval, and actively promotes and supports the use of such structure across the organization.

Educational Requirements

  • Bachelor Degree in a relevant field preferred.

Experience Requirements

  • 5+ years of event coordinator and customer service experience preferred.

Extraordinary Working Conditions

  • Occasional overnight academic retreats, required weekend attendance at monthly Intensives.
  • Schedule is variable with an average of 10 hours a week on non-class weeks.

Compensation: Hourly, Grade 3
