Oikocredit Northwest is an all-volunteer Seattle-based non-profit Support Association of Oikocredit International (ISO), a global leader in microfinance.
Founded in 1975, Oikocredit is one of the world's largest international private providers of microfinance, funding 530 microcredit institutions and 230 community cooperatives in 71 countries that lend to over 25 million of the world's poor. Oikocredit, as a worldwide cooperative society, promotes global justice by challenging individuals, churches and other institutions to economically empower poor people with access to credit.
Oikocredit supports microfinance, cooperatives, fair trade, sustainability and capacity building for its clients, and is the global leader in promoting social performance measurement in the microfinance sector. Oikocredit Northwest, responsible for the States of Washington, Oregon and Idaho (our Territory), also coordinates its activities with the national office in Washington DC (NSO).
Position Overview:
Oikocredit Northwest is seeking an administrative coordinator for a part-time position (10-15 hours per week. This Administrative Coordinator will support and expand activities undertaken by a board of directors who are diverse and busy professionals committed to a mission that promotes microfinance as a sustainable strategy for addressing global poverty.
Responsibilities:
Coordination:
- Support monthly Board and Executive committee meetings and the work of their committees
- Track progress of tasks and functions assumed by Board members and individual volunteers
- Coordinate visits to the Territory by national and international staff
- Coordinate volunteer activities and communications
Outreach:
- Support board members in setting up educational meetings with churches, foundations, and community groups
- Maintain Oikocredit literature and audio-visual materials for distribution
Communication:
- Communication internally between committees and board members
- Event planning, execution and publicity
- Serve as the main point of contact for key events and outreach efforts in the Territory and report Oikocredit NSO and ISO information with Oikocredit NW
- Liaison with Oikocredit NW NSO and ISO as appropriate.
- Volunteer support and communications
Administration:
- Update Salesforce database with contacts in conjunction with NSO as appropriate
- Join team calls remotely and in-person when required and contribute to the development of new strategies that will deepen Oikocredit NW's brand and outreach.

Qualifications:
Skills and Experience:
- Be available to work from home (PC, internet connection etc.)
- Experience working with and coordinating volunteers
- Word processing, spreadsheets and presentation software
- Sales Force experience a plus
- Familiarity with microcredit and socially responsible investing
