Description
The Center for EcoTechnology works with small to medium-sized businesses who want to green their operations through a variety of measures including energy conservation /efficiency, recycling and composting.
Energy Specialist
This position involves performing home energy assessments (energy audits), inspection and selling energy improvement measures as well as installing light bulbs and performing combustion safety tests. Energy auditing often involves standing on ladders, kneeling in cramped spaces, working in dusty areas, and being in cold or hot temperatures. Energy Specialists work independently and report to the Field Operations Manager. Saturday hours are required.
Responsibilities:
- Selling air sealing and insulation measures to homeowners
- Conducting residential energy assessments
- Performing inspections for loans and rebates
- Conducting combustion safety tests
- Installing energy saving measures such as light bulbs and weather-stripping
- Performing 3 or more assessments or inspections per day
- Follow up sales
- Providing excellent customer service
- Meeting or exceeding CET sales expectations
- Identifying technical barriers to installing weatherization measures
- Meeting or exceeding CET expectations for installing energy savings measures (particularly light bulbs) in homes
- Keeping vehicle properly stocked with supplies and tracking use of supplies accurately
- Thorough, accurate, and timely completion of all paperwork and data entry
Qualifications:
- 1 year experience working in field related to energy efficiency
- BPI Building Analyst certification or ability to obtain within 6 months of employment
- Strong math / geometry / communication / computer / sales skills
- Ability to pass drug test, driving and background check
- Reliable, hardworking, trustworthy
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Ability to learn and perform a variety of diagnostic tests
- Use of a reliable vehicle and ability to transport materials
- Must possess valid driver's license
- Passion for the environment and community involvement
- Availability on 2 Saturdays per month
Compensation: This is a full-time salaried position with benefits. CET offers competitive pay rates and a comprehensive health plan which pays approximately 60% of the individual's health insurance costs. New employees are eligible for dental and disability insurance; accrue 10 days of paid vacation leave per year, 9 sick days and CET offers 12 paid holidays.
