Our Energy Division is currently seeking a Research Leader, Bioenergy. This position located in Columbus Ohio.
Responsibilities:
The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate knowledge of and experience in the following areas related to bioenergy:
- Biomass pretreatment
- Fermentation
- Thermal processing, including gasification and pyrolysis
- Syngas cleanup and upgrading
- Distillation / separations
- Process economics
- Optimization of the biomass refining process for various bioproducts
- Process design and operation at commercial scales.
The successful candidate will support development of business opportunities, including intellectual property development, licensing, and fee-for-service contract research. The candidate will be responsible for leading a project team that will develop, design, model/simulate, optimize, and scale-up novel process technologies. Working closely with this team, the candidate will have the additional responsibilities of formulating research plans, managing research programs, and interacting with external partners and clients.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree (PhD degree preferred) in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or related field with course work in energy systems, especially related to bioenergy
- Minimum of 10 years experience in the bioenergy, biomass, or biorefining areas
- Strong oral and written communication skills and well-developed interpersonal skills
