Director, Smart Energy Solutions

The mission of the Energy Coordinating Agency (ECA) is to help people conserve energy and to promote a sustainable and socially equitable energy future for all in the Philadelphia region.

Responsibilities:

• Manages energy efficiency and stormwater management contracts in the Smart Energy Solutions Department for ECA including: EnergyWorks, a DOE funded Better Buildings program, Rain Check, the Philadelphia Water Department's residential stormwater management program, LEED for Homes and Energy STAR Homes, and related fee for service work for residential, multifamily and small commercial customers.
• Coordinates field and office staff responsible for intake, scheduling, auditing, installation, customer education and inspection.
• Identifies skills training and safety training needed.
• Oversees selection and administration of subcontracts as needed.
• Oversees equipment and vehicle purchase and maintenance.
• Works closely with the IT Director to insure proper record keeping and reporting capability is maintained and that the data bases are adequate to support the needs of all activity and their evaluation.
• Works closely with the ECA Executive Director and other staff in planning.
• Plans and carries out a marketing strategy designed to sustain steady growth.
• Updates the SES Business Plan as needed.

Qualifications:

• Strong management and supervisory skills
• Extensive construction and energy conservation experience; at least 4 years of field experience
• Previous business experience, with an emphasis on retail and customer service
• Proven administrative ability
• Strong technical skills in building science, energy systems and diagnostics
• Good interpersonal skills
• Minimum of a B.A. degree, preferably in engineering, physics, or related field
• BPI certification preferred
