Snyder & Associates was founded in 1977 with the goal of establishing a consulting firm which would provide municipalities, schools, public agencies and private developers with comprehensive engineering and planning services. This goal includes services that facilitate "growth through planning" by effectively addressing a client's long term planning needs as well as providing day to day problem solving expertise.
Today as a result of working to solve a range of issues for clients, our services have increased in scope to include complete project planning, design and construction capabilities functioning much like an on-staff engineer or planning professional. In this regard, the firm serves clients from the project planning stage through construction, utilizing expertise in long term capital improvement planning and municipal finance combined with creative and economical design solutions.

Position Overview:
Snyder & Associates has an immediate opportunity for an environmental scientist. This position in our Environmental department is responsible primarily for the completion of wetland delineations, ecological surveys and NEPA documentation.
Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will manage projects in support of both public and private clients, typically related to transportation and federally-funded work. This person also will be assigned to conduct environmental assessments, including writing environmental impact statements, categorical exclusions, etc. Work may include research, site visits, interviews, preparation of exhibits, technical writing, interaction with clients and communication with other Snyder & Associates team members.
Qualifications:
The successful candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in Biology, Natural Resources, Environmental Science, or related discipline. A Master's degree is preferred. Must have a minimum of 5 years experience in a consulting role dealing with wetland delineations, NEPA documentation and ecological surveys.
Prior experience conducting Phase I Environmental Site Assessments, hazardous waste studies, noise analysis and/or SPCC analysis preferred.
