Craft Brew Alliance, representing high quality hand crafted beers with a portfolio from Widmer Brothers Brewing Company, Redhook Brewery and Kona Brewing Co. has an immediate opening for a Sustainability Program Coordinator, located in Portland, OR.

Position Overview:

The role of the sustainability program coordinator is to guide, measure and support the work of CBA employees and Sustainability Committee in environmental and sustainability programs including the annual sustainability report, monitoring and measuring sustainability efforts, financial impact and monitoring of projects, employee education, assistance with marketing and community outreach, support in sustainability engineering projects, and internal and external communication regarding sustainability.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide support in monitoring, measurement and evaluation of sustainability efforts.
  • Develop metrics and measurement of sustainability standards and goals.
  • Provide administrative support to the CBA Sustainability Committee including scheduling of meetings, quarterly and annual reports, and minutes.
  • Represent CBA sustainability programs in community and professional settings.
  • Assist in the development of reports on monitoring, assessment, analysis and metrics of environmental protection, energy efficiency, conservation, recycling, and composting.
  • Participate with and provide relevant information on sustainability efforts to marketing and sales.
  • Research and provide guidance in resource allocation and ROI for sustainability projects.
  • Coordinate and arrange employee education and activities in sustainability.
  • Compile annual report and board reports for CBA brewery operations as related to sustainability.
  • Coordinate and support internal and external communication related to sustainability such as Websites, newsletters, blogs, and other social media.
  • Coordinate employee project requests regarding sustainability projects and funding.
  • Coordinate CBA files and applications related to various sustainability awards and certifications.
  • Manage and complete special projects in sustainability as needed.
  • Perform general administrative duties including mailings, filing, scheduling meetings, drafting correspondence, and support for the sustainability committee.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Sciences or Management or equivalent work experience.
  • Understanding of metrics, financial models, conservation, environmental protection, and energy efficiency programs.
  • At least 2 years' experience in environmental science or sustainability program coordination and implementation preferably in a production company setting; takes ownership of position, anticipates and identifies needs and suggests creative solutions to business challenges; ability to work with confidential information.
  • A passion for, and desire to grow in knowledge of, the Craft Beer industry.
