Founded in 1996, Northeast Energy Efficiency Partnerships, Inc. (NEEP) is a nonprofit organization serving the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic region to accelerate energy efficiency in the building sector through public policy, program strategies, and education.

Over the past 16 years, NEEP has successfully positioned the region as a leader in energy efficiency, heading regional and national efforts to create lasting change in the market for energy efficient products, services, and best practices. We achieve our mission through partnerships with a wide range of stakeholders in the field of energy efficiency. With an annual budget of $6 million and an experienced staff of twenty-two professionals, our work is supported by states, utilities, federal agencies, and private foundations.

Position Overview:

NEEP is seeking a full-time Marketing Associate to join the Strategic Marketing and Communications (SMC) Team.

NEEP's SMC team works across the organization to develop and perform outreach with messages, collateral and events that accurately present the NEEP brand and highlight the Northeast region's role as a leader in energy efficiency.

Comprised of the Strategic Marketing Manager, the Marketing Communications Manager, and the Development & Partner Alliance Manager, this team manages all of the activities related to thought leadership, public relations and media, marketing strategy, website management, message and collateral formation, as well as development of reports and other materials to support fundraising.

Reporting to the Marketing Communications Manager, the Marketing Associate will assist the SMC team through website support, customer relationship management database support, event support, report development, media tracking and collateral development. The SMC Associate will participate in SMC Team as well as NEEP all-staff meetings.  This position requires occasional travel.

Responsibilities:

Website

  • Manage content development to NEEP's website to ensure timely updates that reflect the organization's exciting initiatives and presence in the media
  • Assist NEEP staff to learn and use NEEP's website content management system to keep the website up-to-date and useful
  • Support Strategic Marketing Manger to use and analyze Google Analytics and to prepare reports and recommendations

Customer Relationship Management (CRM) Database

  • Support Development Manager in updating and maintaining CRM
  • Support staff training and use of CRM across the organization
  • Add/update CRM entries
  • Prepare CRM reports
  • Assist Development Manager to conduct analysis and prepare reports about CRM use with recommendations to effectively use the CRM to meet NEEP's goals

Media

  • Maintain NEEP's media lists to ensure accurate distribution of media releases
  • Track, file and assess media coverage of NEEP (e.g. print materials, online materials, radio/television, social media)
  • Support NEEP staff in engaging NEEP stakeholders via our blog,http://www.energyefficiencymatters.org/ and our social media channels, including regular promotion of the blog to various NEEP stakeholders to heighten its visibility and access

 Events

  • Support Marketing Communications Manager with event logistics
  • Registration
  • Audio visual needs and services
  • Venue coordination
  • Maintain event website(s)
  • Support staff use of virtual meeting tools and systems
  • Help identify and secure speaking opportunities and other events to raise the profile of NEEP staff, projects and mission

NEEP Annual Summit

  • Support Marketing Communications Manager with event logistics (e.g., registration, venue coordination)
  • Maintain event website
  • Assist with document production (e.g., E-Marketing Materials, Business Leaders Case Studies)

Communications

  • Provide support for collateral production including proofreading, editing, and review of layout
  • Assist development of collateral materials for NEEP development, fundraising and outreach
  • Maintain content library (e.g. graphics & photos, testimonials, boilerplate language)  

Project Planning, Management and Reporting

  • Participate in SMC team planning and project management
  • Participate in NEEP staff meetings and events
  • Assist preparation and distribution of reports  

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations or other related field
  • 1+ years relevant experience in a business or non-profit environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to work on and track multiple projects at one time
  • Experience with website management including content management systems and Google Analytics
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign & Illustrator) desired but not required
  • Experience with CRM systems desired but not required
