Located in Emeryville, CA, Scientific Certification Systems is a global leader in third-party environmental, sustainability and food quality certification, auditing, testing and standards development. We are positioned for growth and are looking for a highly motivated, positive and organized individual to join our team.
Position Overview:
Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, the Human Resources Associate will be responsible for carrying out day to day Human Resources operations and supporting ongoing HR initiatives. Primary responsibilities will include new hire recruitment and on-boarding, maintenance of employee records, and benefits administration.
As a primary point of contact for both current and prospective employees, this position will play a critical role in shaping the corporate culture of SCS. The successful candidate must be highly service oriented, have unquestionable integrity and enjoy working in a fast paced environment. In addition to working with a great group of people, there will be ongoing opportunities for professional development.
Qualifications:
This position requires:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field; PHR certification preferred
- 2-3 years related work experience, some recruiting experience preferred
- Working knowledge of Federal and California employment law
- Proficiency working with Outlook, Word, Excel and HRIS/ATS, previous experience with ADP and Jobvite helpful but not required
- Well developed organizational and time management skills
- Flexibility and the ability to adapt quickly in a highly dynamic work environment
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate clearly and effectively with all levels within the Company
- Ability to work independently and exercise good judgment
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive information
- A high level of tact, objectivity and diplomacy
- Strict attention to detail
- Ability to work regular business hours, 5 days per week in our Emeryville office
