Responsibilities:
Under the direction of SGA staff, SGA Interns will provide general research and project support to SGA. Some potential projects include:
- Research and writing of report on U.S. State leadership on climate and energy policy
- Research into low carbon projects, specifically Waste to Energy projects both domestically and internationally
- Creating briefing books on countries that are emerging as leaders on climate and energy policy
- Providing administrative support to SGA staff
- Various other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
The successful applicants will have:
- An interest in working in and learning about the environmental, energy, climate change, sustainable development, and clean technology fields
- Excellent writing and editing skills
- Exceptional research skills
- Strong verbal and interpersonal skills
- A proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Powerpoint);
- A professional demeanor
- Ability to work independently
- U.S. citizenship
Compensation: Internships are available from Mid-May through August or September, 2012, depending on the individuals' availability. Interns will dedicate between 10-15 hours a week to the internship. The internships are unpaid.
Location: Interns will work at SGA's Santa Monica office.
