Marrone Bio Innovations (MBI) is a global provider of natural products serving the ever expanding agricultural and water markets. Venture backed and headquartered in Davis, California, the company focuses on discovering, developing, and marketing natural pest management products for the effective control of pests, weeds, plant diseases, and invasive species.

Position Overview:

MBI is hiring a Zequanox Technical Support Scientist or Engineer that will provide technical support to Zequanox field product development team and sales team. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: planning, managing, collecting and analyzing data, and preparing final reports for customer invasive mussel control treatments both and internal product development throughout North American and potentially other countries.

This position will report directly to MBI's Senior Zequanox Field Scientist and work closely with the Zequanox Technical Support Manager and MBI's field research team to support product application development. The Zequanox Technical Support Scientist or Engineer will be responsible treatments for invasive mussels at customer sites as well as contributing to team projects.

This position is located within the Las Vegas, Nevada / Bullhead City, Arizona area.

Responsibilities:

Travel is estimated to be 40% - 60% throughout North America -- inclusive of travel to key field sites to Bullhead City, Arizona, area.

Specific responsibilities will include:

  • Managing and implementing and mussel control treatments with Zequanox.
  • Daily monitoring of studies at field sites and management of equipment inventory and maintenance.
  • Developing standard operation procedures for both customer treatments and research.
  • Gathering and organizing data on product performance, and evaluating pre and post treatment data.
  • Preparing reports and proposals for aquatic product applications.
  • Support of all team projects, including year round mussel collections.

This position requires that you obtain your aquatic pesticide applicators license within 1 year of your hire date. MBI will pay for and provide details needed for the license. An individual who demonstrates creativity in solving problems will be highly valued in this role. Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in engineering, science, technology or related field plus 4 years' experience or a Master's degree and 2 years of experience in design, planning, project management or operation in the industrial, water, or wastewater treatment industry. The ideal candidate will have previously participated in aquatic field research and/or experience in water treatment operations. A candidate with CPR/First Aid training and SCUBA certification is also desired. Demonstrated project management experience is a plus.

In addition, the individual should have:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software, with advanced proficiency in excel or other statistical software.
  • A valid driver's license and ability to travel outside of the country (valid passport).
  • Effective communication skills to interact with potential clients.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, understand and communicate in English at a high level of proficiency.
  • Ability to work harmoniously and effectively within the Zequanox team.

This position requires that you obtain Department of the Interior security clearance within 1 year of your hire date. MBI will pay for and provide details needed for the clearance.

Essential Physical and Mental Functions:

Ability to work hard and sometimes long hours in the field. This is not a laboratory or office position. Field environmental conditions can be uncomfortable (e.g. cold, windy, dry, hot) and includes working outside. Including lifting up to 50 pounds.

Compensation: The salary range is competitive.
