Position Overview:

Puget Sound Energy's Energy Efficiency department is looking for 2 Energy Efficiency Outreach Managers to join their team. One will be based out of Bellevue, WA and the other will be based out of Snohomish County/Whidbey Island. 

The Managers will be responsible for designing and implementing a comprehensive community outreach program to achieve maximum involvement and adoption of energy efficiency/renewable energy programs.  They will collaborate with the community and business services and corporate communications functions to raise the awareness of energy efficiency/renewable energy programs within PSE's communities.

They will also partner with various community groups (from non profits to specialized business organizations) to create and execute programs that meet community, PSE energy efficiency and renewable energy goals. Coordinate with energy efficiency/renewable energy or other program managers to ensure maximum contribution to program targets are achieved through community channel.

Responsibilities:

• Further development of the direct to customer channel to take PSE programs directly to customers and their organizations.
• Develop outreach efforts that complement the trade ally and mass market promotion efforts and supplement the direct-to-customer outreach efforts currently embedded in the program teams.
• Implement program-specific outreach plans in conjunction with program teams and EE Communities management.
• Work for market manager on implementing energy efficient communities' strategy for effectively engaging a variety of communities with energy efficiency goals.
• Develop and manage relationships with key local energy efficiency stakeholders, including chambers of commerce and business associations.
• In conjunction with program teams, design outreach strategies for underserved customers. Assist with customer segmentation and targeting, and development and maintenance of contact lists.
• Promote general customer service and referrals to all of PSE programs and services.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

• Degree in marketing, communications, public relations, or commensurate experience.
• 5 years experience in external relationship marketing and business development, preferably to the not-for-profit and public sector.
• Experienced in representing various sensitive corporate positions.
• Skilled at finding promotional opportunities to leverage multi-layered corporate objectives.
• Skilled in researching and deciphering community needs and uncovering hidden opportunities.
• Strategic critical thinker who can motivate cross-functional teams to obtain objectives.
• Strong project manager who engages "hands-on" activities as necessary.
• Skilled in uncovering hidden "story" potential for working through corporate communications group to launch earned media effort.
• Ability to work successfully with external stakeholders and communities representing diverse interests.
• Excellent verbal/written communication skills.

Desired Qualifications:

• Experience in sustainable marketing/social marketing.
• Understanding of utility business model.
• Northwest utility experience.
• Technical energy efficiency knowledge.

Additional Information:

• There are 2 positions available with one based out of Bellevue, WA.
• The second position will reside in either Snohomish County or Whidbey Island.  PSE has multiple offices and will work with the candidate to determine which office they will be based out of.
• Preference will be given to candidates currently residing in King County for the King County position, or those in Snohomish/Whidbey or those willing to relocate.
• Working remotely for this position is NOT available.
