Position Overview:

The primary responsibilities of Renewable Energy Faculty are to collaborate in developing the program and to teach courses in one or more areas, which include solar, wind, bio-fuels, geothermal and other sustainable energy for non-credit offerings consisting of new and emerging curricula in the alternative energy field. As an integral member of the CCAC Green Institute team this person will be expected to develop effective collegial relationships, work closely with students, work with local employers and take part in the promotion of division programs and the College in general.

Responsibilities:

  1. The primary responsibilities of faculty are to teach and to develop student skills. Prepare and provide students with course outlines that support learning objectives set forth in the course syllabus. Develop and measure learning outcomes. Assess student performance.
  2. Create an effective learning environment through the use of a variety of instructional methods.
  3. Collaborate in the development and continued assessment of learning outcomes for use in program reviews and curriculum revision.
  4. Collaborate in the development of program and/or discipline promotional materials.
  5. Collaborate in laboratory supervision and coordination.
  6. Support the college's goals.
  7. Perform other related duties as required or assigned.

Qualifications:

Associate's degree preferred; Minimum of 5 years experience with repair, installation and design of Renewable Energy Systems. Applicants for Renewable Energy Grant teaching assignments are expected to have strong communication skills and the ability to communicate Renewable Energy Systems concepts to students. Applicants are expected to have teaching experiences; experiences in the discipline/area to be taught; and knowledge of industry-related software and systems, including industry certifications, where appropriate.
