Green Market Solutions launched a new program at the start of 2011 in Maryland to perform BPI certified home energy assessments in thousands of residential homes. As part of this program (Home Performance with ENERGY STAR® Program), GMS provides customers with an in-home energy assessment, which identifies areas in the home where residents are losing energy and provides a report to customers making recommendations for correcting the inefficiencies and improving the home's energy efficiency. In addition, GMS communicates utility, state & federal government incentives to correct energy loss at a reduced cost to the customer. Recommendations benefit customers by lowering their energy utility bills, making temperatures in the home more comfortable and reducing their home's carbon footprint.
Position Overview:
Representatives will recruit customers for in-home energy assessments provided by our Building Performance Institute (BPI) auditors, and along the way, educate customers about energy efficiency. Representatives will primarily make calls to leads purchased from a variety of web based sources to schedule 20-40 audits a month. Outbound calls will be made to schedule presentations or fundraisers to schools, community groups & houses of worship of all faiths. Networking and other in person sales opportunities to schedule assessments should also be pursued.
Work from our Bethesda office 3 days a week and from home 2 days a week in alternating day and evening shifts. Maintain customer records using calendar & CRM software and review bi-weekly with Project Director.
Responsibilities:
The specific sales responsibilities of the Inside Sales Representative position are:
Individual Leads:
- Receive purchased leads via e-mail;
- Make outbound calls to leads to sign up customers for a $100 energy audit with GMS;
- Follow-up diligently and expeditiously with every incoming lead via phone;
- Use CRM software to manage leads and accounts;
Group Leads:
- With GMS management team, perform research to identify businesses and churches to target for energy efficiency presentations
- Make outbound calls to schedule presentations for groups;
Other Networking:
- Network and pursue outside opportunities for individual sales and group presentations;
- Attend trade shows scheduled by GMS management for in person sales;
Other responsibilities:
- Maintain appearance for working with the public;
- Attend company and client-sponsored training sessions.
Qualifications:
Community-oriented and passion for sustainability candidates are preferred.
Compensation: Hourly + Commission = $42-66K per year. A cell phone stipend will be provided.
