Sunlogics, Inc. is a global solar leader that is a vertically integrated solar energy company with expertise in the entire spectrum of the solar energy industry. The company specializes in state-of-the-art solar panels, solar panel manufacturing, material handling and proprietary manufacturing expertise. Due to explosive growth, the company has the following exciting new opportunities available at our Rochester Hills, MI plant: Project Manager.

Position Overview:

  • Manages and coordinates Solar Projects

Responsibilities:

  • Manage Solar Projects
  • Prepare or Manage Solar Project construction permit application and expediting
  • Prepare or Manage Site Plans
  • Manage Utility Company permit and incentive applications
  • Maintain effective relationships with customers, suppliers, contractors, and SLX
  • Conduct safety audits on construction sites. Follow up on any safety incidents.
  • Establish and maintain budgets and project estimates
  • Guarantees proper execution of applicable legal, corporate, environmental, OSHA, and NECand all federal, state and local code requirements.
  • Conduct project close out including training of dealer resources, document control including red line as-built delivery to customer and filing in SLX system.
  • Drive continuous improvement with lessons learned and standardized work
  • Conduct standardized work audits
  • Drive cost reductions
  • Establish and Maintain schedules

Qualifications:

Education:

  • BS in Engineering (Mechanical, Structural or Electrical) or Construction (Required)
  • Advanced degree a plus
  • Project Management Training
  • Familiarity with discounted cash flows, life cycle costing methods a plus

Certifications and Licenses:

  • Licensed Professional Engineer a plus
  • Project Management Certification a plus
  • Certified Energy Manager a plus
  • Certified solar roofing professional a plus

Experience:

1. Minimum of 10 years of combined construction and/or engineering experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of that experience in Project Management
  • At least 3 years of experience handling project totaling $10 million annually or more

2. Experience with on-site construction observation

3. Must be familiar with project management techniques and tools, including all aspects of project control.

4. Experience writing requests for proposal (Required)

  • Scope of work
  • Defined deliverables
  • Form of Contract agreements (AIA, EJCDC)
  • General terms and conditions: Change orders, field orders, instruction to contractor, requests for information, shop drawing and submittal review, lien waivers, pay applications, etc.
  • Document control

5. Familiarity with blueprints and technical documents and document control

  • CSI specification system
  • Understand AutoCad and Revit, Bentley Plant Space and Microstation system capabilities: (proficiency in these graphic systems not required, but AutoCad capability considered a plus)

6. Experience with various contracting approaches

  • Traditional bid-build
  • Design build
  • Construction manager at risk

7. Familiarity with codes, design and permitting

  • International Building Code, International Residential Code, International Electric Code, National electric Code, International Fire Code

8. Solar experience a plus

9. Familiarity with electric utility contract structures and tariffs a plus

10. Experience with roofing and various types of roofs a plus

11. Experience with power distribution and building electrical systems
