Position Overview:

The Renewable Energy Analyst will work directly with Department of Energy staff to provide technical, analytical, and administrative support for research and development programs in DOE's Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE).

The main area of technical focus will be in the Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Technologies (particularly hydrogen storage and systems analysis) Program. Specifically, they will work with DOE and Energetics managers to support a variety of activities required to run an effective technology development program and communicate progress and benefits to the public and key stakeholders.

The position will be located at the Energetics Washington, DC office, and will require moderate on-site support at the DOE's nearby Forrestal Building.

Responsibilities:

  • Performing energy, market, and regulatory analysis and evaluating trends -Preparing data in support of program budgets
  • Responding to requests for information from Congress, EERE management, and other program stakeholders
  • Assisting with input for operating and strategic plans
  • Maintaining project tracking and cost management databases
  • Supporting peer reviews and solicitation processes
  • Preparing communications and outreach products including: technical reports, program briefings, and fact sheets
  • Developing website content
  • Organizing and conducting program stakeholder meetings and producing meeting minutes or workshop proceedings
  • Coordinating webinars
  • Supporting program teams
  • Assisting with quick-turnaround activities

Qualifications:

Education/Experience:

The position requires a minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in physical science (materials science or chemistry), engineering (materials or mechanical engineering), energy or environmental policy, or related field and 1 to 5 years of relevant experience.

Proficiency required in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access).

Working conditions are standard for an office environment.
