Description

The DC Project is engaged in a rebranding process to better reflect its work and national programming expansion. The organization will adopt a new name, logo and mission statement, and plans to launch an organizational website this fall.

Position Overview:

The New Media Fellow will play a crucial role in this undertaking by helping to develop and maintain a dynamic organizational website that reinforces the organization's new brand and conveys its leadership in the field.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in development of site by providing technical guidance and assisting in content creation/collection and upload 
  • Ensure considerations around usability, content and professional design are seamlessly integrated into development process
  • Monitor the performance of external web development vendor
  • Update key staff on cutting-edge advancements in web development field
  • Provide strategic advice on mechanisms for driving more supporters to the site and moving them to action
  • Address all closely related online strategic, technical and creative needs

Qualifications:

  • Experience with professional website development or personal web development experience with a strong interest in applying skill-set and best practices to a professional platform.
  • Familiarity with both Joomla and Drupal Content Management Systems, experience using third-party templates and coding ability are highly desired.
  • Undergraduate or graduate students are strongly encouraged to apply.
  • The abilities to help drive a project with clear, realistic goals and to self-monitor progress toward reaching those objectives are highly desired.
  • Superior organizational and time management skills are crucial to excelling in the fellowship.
  • Individuals who are receptive to close-collaboration in a fast-paced environment and able to manage multiple projects will be assets to the organization.
  • Ideal candidates are dedicated individuals who seek to grow as professionals and develop supportive relationships with colleagues.
