Position Overview:

The Project Manager is fully responsible for managing every aspect of the solar development project, from the early development stages, beginning after project assignment, through to the final stage and warranty period.  The Project Manager will oversee each phase of the project, including, but not limited to, coordinate the internal Project Team, determining the necessity of subcontractors or third party vendors, and taking the appropriate courses of action to ensure the completion of project milestones within deadlines and within budgets.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement and manage project execution plan, defining important project milestones and deadlines, and ensuring project is on track through each phase
  • Develop, implement and manage project budget and payment schedule, ensuring project is on budget through each stage
  • Create and manage project team, defining each member's role and responsibilities as they pertain to the project's development
  • Determine internal & external support needs & costs
  • Attain appropriate approvals from department heads and country managers, as they apply to project milestones
  • Request and obtain Financial Model for the project from Finance Department
  • Request and administer internal project codes for financial and recording purposes
  • Ensure project funds are requested through appropriate internal channels
  • Liaise and manage relationships with governmental, environmental as well as engineering firms and consultants to prepare all necessary documentation for presentation to the proper authorities in order to obtain permits and licenses.
  • Develop an understanding of relevant state, county and city codes, procedures and regulations required by the local planner and building departments.
  • Develop an understanding of local power markets and power pricing strategy.
  • Acquire appropriate approvals prior to submitting letters of intent and/or purchase orders
  • Evaluate all RFP's and approve PO's
  • Responsible for proper project invoice management and submission to internal Finance Department
  • Set up internal and external communications as they pertain to the project's development
  • Any additional responsibilities that arise from the position of project manager.

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years experience as a project manager
  • Experience with Land Entitlements, CuP Applications, Interconnections
  • A personal commitment to a safe working environment.
  • Willingness to travel (local and out-of-state).
  • Willingness to do whatever reasonable to accomplish objectives.
  • Strong, documented project management skills.
  • High-level computer proficiency, including MS Office Suite & MS Projects.
