The National Cooperative Grocers Association (NCGA) is a business services cooperative for natural food co-ops located throughout the United States. NCGA helps unify natural food co-ops in order to optimize operational and marketing resources, strengthen purchasing power, and ultimately offer more value to natural food co-op owners and shoppers everywhere.
Position Overview:
National Cooperative Grocers Association (NCGA) is now accepting applicants for the full-time position of Supplier Programs Manager. This position, based in our St. Paul, MN office, will report to the Director of Purchasing and be responsible for the development and management of national and regional purchasing programs, with a focus on Fresh foods sold in retail grocery (i.e., produce, deli, meat/seafood).
Qualifications:
The successful candidate will have significant previous experience in developing and managing supplier agreements and relationships; progressively responsible experience in retail and wholesale purchasing and of Fresh foods, including budgeting, inventory management and contract negotiation; ability to plan for, carry out and provide support for projects with minimal supervision; exceptional written and verbal communication skills; a willingness to travel frequently; and a strong commitment to the success of values-based, independent retail food co-ops as well as a passion for fresh and local food systems.
