IceStone, LLC manufactures high-design durable surfaces from recycled glass and cement. The company is a leader in sustainable business, focusing on a triple bottom line of environmental and social as well as financial returns.
Position Overview:
The intern would have a significant role in growing IceStone’s sales by leading the early-stage sales cycle. The person would work closely with IceStone Sales Team members to achieve corporate sales goals for 2011. This opportunity is ideal for a motivated, energetic and goals-driven individual who welcomes challenges, thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment and possesses excellent organizational and communication skills.
This internship would start in Spring 2011. Depending on performance and fit, there is a possibility to expand this role into a permanent position at the company. This position is based at IceStone’s facility in Brooklyn.
Responsibilities:
- Contacts inbound sales leads via phone or email to qualify and assign to the appropriate IceStone or distributor sales team member.
- Develops and implements strategic approach to generate and target commercial leads. This may include developing leads originating from Reed Construction, United States Green Building Council, IceStone's website, industry publications, and other sources
- Generating, qualifying and assigning leads may include: prospecting leads; initial conversations with potential customers; representing the company to potential customers; qualifying, following-up and monitoring leads; and passing high-priority leads to outside sales managers for closing
- Assists Sales Team with scheduling and preparing for presentations to architects, designers, fabricators, or other potential customers
- Maintains an up-to-date opportunity pipeline in Salesforce.com
- Performs administrative and marketing duties as needed
Qualifications:
- Completed at least 3 years of undergraduate studies
- Candidate must be:
o Extremely organized and dedicated to meticulously managing details
o Flexible team player able to excel in a fast-paced environment under time constraints
o Able to multi-task and communicate effectively with all levels
o Energetic, creative, disciplined and a self-starter, able to manage projects independently - Functional Skills necessary:
o Strong organizational skills
o Strong speaking, writing, and listening skills
o Knowledge of Salesforce.com
o Comfortable making telephone calls to potential or existing customers
o Able to develop and learn new systems and tools quickly
o Experience with process development and deployment - Interpersonal/Team Working Skills necessary
o Excellent interpersonal and team working skills
o Ability to contribute constructively, share ideas and actively listen to ideas of others
o Receptive to taking direction and receiving constructive feedback - Inside or Outside selling experience a plus
- Knowledge of the premium surfaces business or sustainable design a plus
- Experience with assisting architectural and design firms in creating, maintaining and closing specifications a plus
- Experience or interest in sustainability a plus
