Along with its sister companies, ECOtality North America focuses on several areas related to electric and alternative-fuel transportation including: alternative-fuel infrastructure design and construction (including CNG, CNG/Hydrogen blended fuels and pure 100% Hydrogen), alternative-fuel fleet consulting; public charging station design and installation; fast-charging systems design and application; electric vehicle fleet consulting; vehicle testing and failure analysis for the major auto manufacturers; on-road/off-road electric vehicle and electric boat propulsion system design.

Responsibilities:

Under general direction, this individual will be responsible for the installation, configuration, and maintenance of servers and applications within a Windows environment.

  • Reports directly to the Information Technology Manager, dotted line supervision to Senior Systems Administrator
  • Under general direction, responsible for activities related to system administration.
  • Responsible for the installation, maintenance, configuration, and integrity of computing hardware and software in compliance with standards.
  • Responsibility for the uptime, performance, and recoverability of the systems both hardware and software.
  • Evaluate and recommend hardware and software upgrades and must be able to design and plan for the growth of the infrastructure.
  • Support the activities of the IT Team as an active and supportive team member.
  • Complete projects on agreed to time lines and within pre-defined budgetary constraints.
  • Administration of Windows based servers and associated software applications.
  • Act as second level support for Desktop Support team.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Information Technology Manager.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Position prefers a B.S. in Computer Science, but is not required with proper experience and technical certifications.
  • 2-4+ years' experience in a Systems Administrator role in a high availability production environment.
  • Must exhibit excellent problem solving skills and be able to quickly diagnose system problems and implement solutions to restore functionality.
  • Must have an excellent working knowledge of and experience with server assembly, configuration, and operation, including peripherals such as disk controllers, RAID arrays, RAM expansion, and network cards.
  • Experience with Hewlett Packard and Dell Hardware, as well as Cisco switches and routers, and NetApp or equivalent SAN storage
  • Must have experience with production virtualized server environments using either Citrix XenServer or VMWare.
  • Must have experience configuring and troubleshooting network equipment including routers, switches and firewalls.
  • Must have competency with administration of Windows 2003/2008, Active Directory, Exchange 2010, Microsoft SharePoint, SQL, DHCP, DNS, iSCSI, SAN.
  • Experience with VoIP systems a plus.
  • Must be able to create high quality detailed project plans and associated project documentation, also create and maintain other documentation with the ability to capture details and write to an audience.
  • Ability and willingness to work irregular hours as required to maintain the infrastructure and hosted services without interrupting core business operations or functionality.
  • Ability to handle constantly changing flow of traffic; remain productive during slow times, be able to multitask effectively during busy times, exercise patience and professionalism during stressful situations.
  • Ability to work responsibly with or without direct supervision, with a proven ability to prioritize and multitask with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to deliver quality results on time.

Compensation: $55,000 - $65,000
