Position Overview: 

PSE's Energy Efficiency Services (EES) is looking for an Energy Efficient Communities Program Coordinator to join their team. The Coordinator will be responsible for working with PSE's communities on promoting and implementing energy efficiency and customer renewable projects with local governments, businesses and community organizations.

This position links PSE residential and business energy efficiency program targets with community goals, with a large focus on small business outreach. The coordinator will work with local community stakeholders and the energy efficient communities' manager on the design of outreach initiatives to achieve appropriate community involvement in PSE's Energy Efficiency programs.

Responsibilities: 

The Program Coordinator will have the following responsibilities:

  • Assess communities' energy efficiency potential, specifically small businesses, and coordinate with EES market managers to ensure consistent delivery of EES programs to achieve goals and targets
  • Work on implementing energy efficient communities' strategy for effectively engaging communities with energy efficiency department goals
  • Track energy efficiency program participation associated with community outreach, most specifically on small business outreach
  • Develop and manage relationships with key local energy efficiency stakeholders, including chambers of commerce and business associations
  • Conduct outreach to the small business and contractor community in conjunction with the business energy management team to identify opportunities for small business energy efficiency savings potential
  • Identify opportunities and energy savings potential in the underserved sectors in coordination with EES program staff to promote community-based energy efficiency initiatives
  • Coordinate with successful federal economic stimulus grant recipients to bring PSE program expertise and leverage our programs with federal dollars

Other Functions:

  • Coordinate with community services team in region to ensure local stakeholders have understanding of PSE's EES programs
  • Integrate EES division strategies with other PSE department's customer strategies in their region (e.g. operations, community relations and corporate communications)
  • Co-develop messages with municipalities and community based initiatives

Qualifications: 

Required:

  • 3 years experience with program coordination and/or management, planning & budgetary responsibility
  • 2 years experience in planning with some budgeting responsibilities
  • Experience coordinating and/or managing relationships with outside vendors
  • Experience with trade organizations and/or community outreach
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent communication, organization, presentation and analytical skills. 

Desired: 

  • Knowledge of energy efficiency, renewable energy, corporate responsibility and sustainability
  • Strong ability to work independently, but also contribute to the overall team goals while embracing a shared vision
  • Ability to work successfully in networking with external stakeholders and communities representing diverse interests in the formulation of collaborative and viable partnerships
  • Ability to build strong relationships with internal and external constituents, utilize creative thinking and problem identification and resolution skills
  • Strong project management skills and willingness to engage in "hands-on" activities as necessary           
  • Proficient computer skills with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Work history that reflects a passion for enhancing effective corporate community engagement, corporate responsibility and customer service
  • A 4 year degree in communications, community development, business sustainability, public relations or commensurate experience
  • Preference will be given to candidates currently residing in Kitsap County or those willing to relocate.
