Small, fast-growing, profitable, "green" e-commerce company dedicated to serving the triple bottom line has an immediate need for an outstanding person to fill our Ecommerce Store Manager role. As a leader we have developed a strong brand, large rapidly growing customer base, and are generating enormous buzz - recent highlights include USA Today, The Wall Street Journal, NY Times, Chicago Tribune, CNN, ABC News, NPR's Marketplace and an endorsement in An Inconvenient Truth.
Position Overview:
Design, maintain and manage company web site(s) including merchandising, product photography, graphics and SEO in order to generate revenue, build customer loyalty & maintain position as a leading authority on reusables. All work will be guided by our Brand, Web Design Style Guide and Website Goals and targeted KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) along with regular analysis of internal sales reports and Google Analytics.
This position is similar to a store manager of a small, brick and mortar retailer; the goal is to use past sales and data to improve and drive future sales; to make sure the products look good, are displayed attractively, playing up product features; to make sure customer feedback is incorporated into an optimal shopping experience.

Responsibilities:
Key Responsibilities Include:
Project Management: Based on the website strategy, create business requirements, project plans and direct the work of our programmer(s) to create functional and content updates to the website.
Design and Production (graphics and photography): Design and produce graphics for the website, newsletters, blog, product tags and company collateral based on the company and brand's style guide to drive sales. Ensure that our products are accurately conveyed on the website (e.g. details, how it works, scale, features) to create sales and avoid returns (accuracy of color, texture, scale, etc...). Create or direct product photography and videos. Responsible for general site maintenance and organization along with programmer(s).
Marketing: Assist President with the development and design of marketing strategies for website. Create, manage and optimize Google campaigns based on performance goals and budget. Create monthly reports using Google analytics and suggest actions for improving SEO performance; analyze website metrics, identify and use KPIs to drive E-Commerce initiatives. Manage and grow affiliate program. Work with the content team and customer service to produce new content for the website and blog that drives better search engine results and helps our customers make better buying decisions. Provide analysis to ensure we are optimizing our social media strategies.
Merchandising: Proactively merchandise the site (cross-sell and up-sell) ensuring popular, top selling products are featured, driving top line revenue. Monitor performance and adjust accordingly. Work with Operations and Marketing to create and execute sales and margin plans. Maintain product catalog, including product copy, video and product images. Monitor out of stocks and work with purchasing department to execute backorders and pre-orders. Coordinate with purchasing and vendor relations on site promotions and new offers. Monitor our competition to ensure that we offer competitive pricing and effective promotions; make recommendations for products and pricing based on analysis. Assist in product development
Qualifications:
Aside from the required skills and experience listed below, we are looking for someone who shares our passion for the environment and social issues.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Bachelors Degree
- 5 - 10 years of Internet Industry/Website experience in Design, Production, or Marketing function
- Ecommerce experience
- Web Design training and experience - Photoshop and HTML Must present a portfolio of web design work (refer to URL or website)
- Experience managing teams and web development
- Merchandising experience (could be brick and mortar retail)
- Marketing (SEO )Experience
The following skills are not required but are preferred:
- Experience working for a Consumer Goods Ecommerce Company
- Video Production and Photography Experience
- Knowledge of Ecommerce technology platforms

Compensation: Based on Experience. We offer a strong compensation package based on individual and company results. Levers include salary health insurance, dental insurance, profit sharing plus incentives.

We have an entrepreneurial work environment with a lot of autonomy. While a casual environment, work is fast paced and outstanding results are expected. We expect this position to be 40 - 45 hours / week. Limited flex-time/telecommuting are possibilities. Approximate office hours: M-F, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM.
