Description
Echogen Power Systems, a private company based in Akron, Ohio is commercializing waste heat to power with a proprietary system. Since its founding in April, 2007, Echogen has developed a breakthrough power generation cycle called the Thermafficient® Waste Heat Recovery Engine. It uses a modified Rankine Cycle with supercritical carbon dioxide (ScCO2) as the working fluid. ScCO2 is environmentally benign, non-toxic, and has favorable heat and mass transport properties which allow for an energy dense, compact thermodynamic system.
Position Overview:
The Heat Exchanger Design Engineer is responsible for definition, acquisition, and technology development of heat exchangers and other fluid elements in Echogen heat engines, including recuperator, waste heat exchanger, and condenser.
The specification of commercial heat exchangers to meet short term program needs will be augmented by definition and execution of technology development programs to establish improved heat exchanger cost and performance. These programs will include both performance improvements through creative design decisions, as well as development and implementation of innovative manufacturing methods for medium-volume production.
