Position Overview:                                            

Responsible for developing and conducting classes for various wind, solar, electronic, and hydraulic classes.

Responsibilities:

  1. Responsible for developing and conducting classes for various wind and solar programs.
  2. Develop and maintain communications with wind and solar businesses.
  3. Submit reports and maintain records as required by High Plains Technology Center.
  4. Supervise the enrollment procedures, ordering, distribution and inventory of class textbooks and supplies for all classes/programs.
  5. Conduct classes, workshops, and special meetings with wind and solar providers
  6. Maintain equipment in inventory control and records.
  7. Establish and maintain efficient procedures and effective controls for expenditure of school funds in accordance with the adopted budget and purchasing procedures in cooperation with the administration.
  8. Schedule and coordinate instruction with participating wind and solar personnel.
  9. Maintain records and provide information on all students as required by the appropriate accrediting agency.
  10. Assist in developing training materials
  11. Schedule classroom training sites, equipment, and supplies.
  12. Attend in-service meeting conducted by High Plains Technology Center.
  13. Perform such other tasks and assume such other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned.

Other Job Functions:

  1. Maintain a line of communication and work cooperatively with instructors, administration, staff, and students.
  2. Develop and maintain a line of communication with patrons, business and industry, economic development organizations, and other educational institutions for the purpose of fulfilling the stated beliefs, mission, and vision of High Plains Technology Center.
  3. Perform other tasks and assume duties that may be required.

Qualifications:

Education:                                                

Bachelor Degree from an accredited college or university preferred. College, technical training, or experience in related field required

Experience:                                   

Minimum of 3 years occupational experience in the area of instruction.

Certification:                                 

Relevant industry related certifications are a plus

Dependability:                                

Regular attendance following a designated work schedule.  Must be able to work extended hours and additional days/evenings as required by position responsibilities.  Must be able to attend and participate in meetings/conferences as scheduled within the district, state, and in other states.

Skills Required:                                        

Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.  Ability to plan, organize, and teach classes including theory and skill.  Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with representative and personnel in various businesses.  Ability to interpret regulations from governmental regulatory agencies.  Ability to design and deliver training programs.

Physical Requirements:                        

Requires lifting, handling, and carrying of such articles as books, material, files, and related items, equipment, etc.; must be able to lift supplies and equipment up to 30 pounds from floor to 4 foot level.

Mental/Emotional Requirements:       

Moderate to High.  Must deal with multiple students working on a variety of projects simultaneously.  Must carry out daily and long-term instructional preparations, required concentrated efforts, and overtime work. Must periodically submit required reports within short time periods.
