Position Overview:
Work includes but not limited to reliability planning, conducting reliability testing and analyzing reliability data during product development of high-power Light-Emitting Diode (LED) chips, emitters and assemblies. Interface with reliability equipment manufactures and internal/external facility managers to specify and procure necessary reliability equipment. Develop robust reliability test and handling procedures. Work with product engineering teams to insure reliability test strategy will verify product development and product release performance/quality goals. Work with Failure Analysis (FA) engineers to determine and assess failures.
Qualifications:
Skills:
- Expertise in Semiconductor and Opto-electronic reliability planning, testing, and data analysis
- HALT/HAST/HASS reliability testing
- Degradation acceleration-factor determination
- Product qualification reliability testing including HTOL, LTOL, WHTOL, PTMCL, TMCL, TMSK MSL, ESD, vibration and mechanical shock testing
- Experienced in FMEA/FMECA methodologies
- Expertise in reliability statistical analysis
- Reliability laboratory set-up and management
- Specify and procure reliability equipment including environmental chambers, test boards, and driver electronics
- Manage new and on-going reliability tests
- Generate robust reliability testing, unit handling and performance testing procedures
- Knowledge of thermal resistance testing
- Knowledge of opto-electronic performance testing
- Failure Analysis experience in Semiconductor and Opto-electronic devices and assemblies
- Familiarity with FA techniques including mechanical and FIB cross-sectioning, SEM/TEM/Optical Microscopy, SIMS, Auger spectroscopy, EDX, X-ray, and Acoustic imaging
- Experience with high-power LEDs a plus
- Reliability pertaining to high-power LEDs and assemblies
- Reliability testing and reporting specific to LEDs, especially standardized tests such as LM80 and TM-21
- Familiarity with high-power LED chip, emitter, and assembly designs
- Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills
Education and Experience:
MS or above in Material Science, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering with +5 years of related experience, or equivalent.
