Our goal at SDK is to support and enjoy significant accomplishments in the market transformation of commercial and institutional building design and construction towards more mainstream sustainable and green building practices.
We work towards this goal everyday by supporting our clients who have significant commercial and/or institutional building portfolios, who will build multiple projects over the course of decades to come, by taking on full sustainable design and green building outcome responsibility for individual projects, while institutionalizing sustainable design/construction team, and owner management, practices and values along the way.
Position Overview:
SDK is in search of a team-oriented individual who can work well with minimal supervision in a small office environment. Strong professional skills and a positive, flexible, attitude are essential.
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities consist of the following for the 5 to 10 LEED existing building projects assigned:
- Primary project point of contact with clients
- Client correspondence and relationship management
- Project LEED goal setting and tracking
- Primary responsibility for conducting initial LEED EB assessments of existing buildings.
- Primary responsibility for managing in house technical support staff and building owners/managers/operators/vendors for determining detailed LEED EB requirements path to compliance.
- Primary responsibility for managing in house energy auditing and engineering staff on analysis and compliance on energy, commissioning, and ventilation related LEED EB requirements.
- Tasking, monitoring, and reporting on project LEED certification documentation tasks assigned to others on the owner/design/construction team.
- Project status reporting to owner/management team
- Project schedule tracking and project budget management and invoicing support
- Setup of implementation management process
- Tasking of SDK Project Associate and Engineering Staff assigned to the projects managed by the PM
- Primary responsibility for compiling and submitting project LEED Certification Application
- Supporting and participating in the refinement and/or improvement of SDK project management process and tools
- Supporting project specific and broader SDK company marketing and sales efforts.
Qualifications:
Skills, Experience, and Educational Requirements:
- A BS or BA degree with demonstrated technical experience
- 3 to 5 years relevant work experience
- Project meeting and facilitation experience
- Project management, technical support staff management, and budget monitoring experience
- Direct knowledge of and experience in the facilities management, property management, or facilities consulting process and industry in commercial and/or institutional facilities.
- Background in detailed technical project work in commercial and institutional buildings
- A strong ability to absorb technical details and established processes to contribute to a technical team and the overall program
- Intermediate level experience or knowledge of the LEED EBOM requirements criteria and application
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel
- Experience managing multiple, complex projects/tasks
- Excellent writing and verbal communication, organization and time management skills
- Excellent time management, planning, analytic and organization skills
- Strong people skills for training and mentoring clients and support staff
- Multi-tasking and deadline management skills to effectively manage large amounts of information
