Position Overview:
The Program Coordinator, Post-Baccalaureate Certificate in Sustainable Design Online is a member of the College staff with teaching responsibilities, contributes to the overall educational program in Continuing Studies and Online Learning; and is responsible for the functionality, stability, daily management, improvement and success of the program.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare annual budget rationale and request for the program, submitting recommendations to the Director of Continuing Studies.
- Act as the academic advisor to all students in the program.
- Prepare the course schedule and assign teaching schedules.
- Teach 6-9 credits per year in the Program.
- Recruit and hire new and replacement instructors as needed.
- Conduct teaching performance evaluations for all instructors who teach in the program and contribute input to performance evaluations for faculty from MCAD Departments who teach in the program, if requested by their department Chairs.
- Evaluate curriculum and instructional program for continuous improvement, recommend appropriate actions and implement approved changes.
- Maintain archive of syllabi, course descriptions, assignment sheets and biographical informational on instructors who teach in the program.
- Develop and implement academic policies and advising procedures for the program congruent with College and Continuing Studies mission and goals.
- Assist with promotion and marketing of the program.
- Responsible for improved student recruitment and retention.
- Maintain enrollment data on students in the program.
- Submit an annual report with enrollment and budget statistics and analysis, and recommendations for improved student enrollment, curriculum improvement and overall continuous program improvement.
- Meet on a regular basis with directors of the academic support areas as needed regarding the program activities and the infrastructure required to support it.
- Research and recommend strategies for technical infrastructure and necessary infrastructure improvements needed to support the program.
- Other duties as assigned by the Director of Continuing Studies and the Director of Online Learning.
Qualifications:
Education:
Master's Degree or equivalent, desired. Superior teaching, research and professional credentials required in the field of Sustainable Design. Design undergraduate education desired.
Experience:
Demonstrated evidence of successful, professional work experience with a state-of-the-art online instructional program. Evidence of quality teaching, interest and ability to teach across the program curriculum, and a history of working with instructors and professional community, required. Demonstrated research and project management skills are required.
Skills:
Knowledge of instructional design and Web 2.0 teaching tools needed to support an online educational program is required. Knowledge of CRM, online shopping cart, and student information systems is highly desired. Demonstrated managerial skills and leadership potential. Must possess excellent interpersonal skills and afford vision, guidance and advocacy for program. Demonstrated teaching or training skills.

Compensation: This is a full-time benefits-eligible position.
