The Vermont Energy Investment Corporation, which provides services for Efficiency Vermont - the nation's first statewide 'energy efficiency utility', is very pleased to announce that we created a three-year partnership with American Municipal Power, based in Columbus, Ohio, to form a new venture known as Efficiency Smart Power Plant (ESPP).  VEIC's wide range of energy efficiency and implementation services will initially serve approximately 50 publicly-owned municipal electric utilities that represent more than 200,000 customers in Ohio.

We are looking for 5 creative and industrious business leaders to start-up, lead and pave the way for this program to deliver long-term electrical efficiency savings to residential, commercial, and industrial customers, as follows:

  • Director of Efficiency Smart Power Plant
  • Director of Business Energy Services
  • Director of Key Accounts
  • Retail Efficient Products Market Manager
  • Senior Technical Specialist

Director of Efficiency Smart Power Plant (ESPP):

Position Overview: 

This position will provide executive management, leadership, and oversight of Efficiency Smart Power Plant service delivery, strategic planning, marketing, policy, and public affairs.  This individual will have a primary responsibility for the development, execution, and oversight of agreements with American Municipal Power and their participating member utilities as well as for the achievement of performance goals, including saving 70,000 megawatt hours of electricity annually.

Qualifications:

MBA and minimum 10 years of management experience, including executive leadership, and a minimum 5 years supervision of senior managers focused on operations in an organization with an annual budget of $10MM +.

Director of Business Energy Services:

Position Overview:

This position will direct, manage and oversee the operations of the Business Energy Service (BES) work of ESPP, including the development and delivery of energy services to business customers (commercial, industrial, municipal and institutional).  This individual will also support the development, and proactive implementation of, the BES team's strategic plans and initiatives and supervise BES operational staff as needed.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical field plus at least 10 years of professional experience, and 5 years experience supervising professional engineering staff and 5 years of business management experience.

Director of Key Accounts:

Position Overview:

The Director of Key Accounts will lead, direct, and have primary responsibility for the Key Accounts Division for Efficiency Smart Power Plant (ESPP).  This position will establish strategic relationships that will deliver qualified business projects from ESPP key business accounts on a continuous basis and provide primary accountability for the delivery of qualified projects on an annual basis that meets specified targets.  The Director of Key Accounts will also supervise Key Account staff as necessary.

Qualifications: 

Master's degree in business, plus a minimum of 10 years experience and demonstrated success in leading business development strategy and implementation.  Experience in a consultative sales organization preferable in business to business energy or professional services.

Retail Efficient Products Market Manager:

Position Overview: 

This position will lead the development, implementation and operation of services that affect the consumer, supplier and manufacturer of energy efficient products sold at retail and will collaborate with other Market Managers, both Residential and Business, and supporting services, e.g. Marketing, IT, Planning & Evaluation, Fiscal Administration, etc., to pro-actively identify market needs and develops plans and strategies to address these needs and to achieve Efficiency Smart Power Plant (ESPP) goals and contractual objectives.

Qualifications: 

Bachelor's degree in business, or relevant technical field and 8-10 years relevant experience or Master's degree and 5-7 years relevant experience.

Senior Technical Specialist:

Position Overview:

The Senior Technical Specialist will lead the development and coordination of technical policies, systems and engineering resources for ESPP to ensure the delivery of high quality technical information and services to ESPP staff, subcontractors and customers.  This position will also oversee the development, procurement, and maintenance of the technical analysis tools necessary for efficient, appropriate and accurate technical analysis and reporting of efficiency measures while providing assistance and training for ESPP staff in use of technical analysis tools and methods, and assists staff with custom analysis and screening.

Qualifications: 

Masters degree in engineering or environmental science plus minimum 5 years relevant professional experience.  Strong proficiency with detailed engineering analysis, documentation of analysis procedures, development of analysis tools.  Strong understanding of building and industrial systems, energy use, construction, and energy analysis techniques.
