The Alliance for Green Heat is a non-profit organization promoting wood heat as a low carbon, renewable fuel. The Alliance educates the public and the policy community about benefits of wood heat to reduce our reliance on fossil heating fuel and keep our energy dollars in our own communities. The Alliance also promotes solutions and policies that support biomass heating for low-income populations. The position is partially funded through a USDA Forest Service grant.
Position Overview:
The Alliance for Green Heat, a non-profit renewable energy organization, is looking for a Program Manager to prepare a toolkit on incentivizing wood heat technologies. This will include studying renewable energy incentive programs and how they can best lower household carbon footprints.

Responsibilities:
The Program Manager will be responsible for:
- Helping to design and carry out a year- long research project on the strengths and weaknesses of existing thermal biomass incentive programs.
- Recruit and interact with an advisory body of experts in this field.
- Interviewing managers of renewable energy incentive programs.
- Attend conferences and network with renewable energy professionals.
- Draft sections of the report on incentive programs.
- Help manage interns.
- Refine copy and graphics for our website and newsletter.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree preferably in a relevant field
- Minimum of 1-4 years employment in relevant position
- Advanced research skills
- Excellent oral communication skills
- Innovative and creative
- Ability to meet deadlines while maintaining quality standards
- Highly motivated and positive attitude
- Excellent attention to detail
- Background in renewable energy or energy efficiency a plus
