Microcell's headquarters and research & development are located in a modern facility in the Research Triangle area of North Carolina. In February of 2007, the company acquired an 80,000 square foot manufacturing facility in Robersonville, North Carolina.
While capable of producing the world's smallest fuel cell, Microcell's focus is currently on the production of fuel cells for distributed generation and vehicular applications.
Position Overview:
Microcell Corporation is immediately looking for a Master's or PhD level Product Development Engineer who will be responsible for designing and developing fuel cell power systems for a variety of applications. This position will be permanently located in Microcell's Raleigh, North Carolina research facility.
The position may require occasional trips to Microcell's manufacturing plant in eastern North Carolina.
Responsibilities:
Primary responsibilities will include:
- Design, development and implementation of fuel cell power systems.
- May develop a range of fuel cell products.
- Recommends alterations to development and design to improve quality of products and/or procedures.
- Will develop and implement advances.
- Secondary responsibilities will include troubleshooting systems and long term development projects.
Qualifications:
- MS and/or PhD in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or Power Electronics.
- 5 years of experience in the field or in a related area is preferred.
- Electromechanical aptitude is preferred.
- Knowledge of LabView, CAD and other engineering software is highly desirable.
- The candidate must be results oriented and have a strong attention to detail.
- The candidate will also need solid communication and interpersonal skills; able to interface with different groups within the company; and effectively analyze situations, weigh alternatives, make a decision and then execute.
- Supervisory Experience is preferred.
