Description

Green For All is a national organization dedicated to building an inclusive green economy strong enough to lift people out of poverty. Green for All advocates for local, state and federal policies and funding for quality job creation, training, and entrepreneurial opportunities in the emerging green economy.

Green for All is developing a national network to engage people from every sector of society in (1) collaborating to build a green economy that works for all by sharing innovation, best practices, and relationships to (2) advance major policy initiatives that fight both poverty and pollution at the same time.

Position Overview: 

This is a full-time position focused on implementing the financial processes and procedures to support Green For All (GFA) in its growth phase. The bookkeeper will work closely and collaboratively with all of the staff of GFA.

Responsibilities:

  • Accounts Receivable: Enter and code commitments and contributions/income to appropriate accounts, generate invoices when required, and process deposits
  • Accounts Payable: Enter and code invoices to appropriate accounts, print and mail checks
  • Prepare the bi-weekly payroll processing and assist employees as needed with payroll issues
  • Maintain vacation and sick time accruals on a monthly basis
  • Assist with bank reconciliation
  • Post to and reconcile the general ledger as needed
  • Post and reconcile credit card transactions on a monthly basis
  • Allocate shared expenses and shared payroll on a quarterly basis
  • Maintain personnel files
  • Process incoming and outgoing personnel
  • Maintain vendor files and relationships, including contracts and W-9's
  • Enroll and terminate employees from all health benefits including COBRA
  • Process all employee benefits and insurance including 401k, worker's compensation insurance, health savings accounts and flexible spending accounts
  • Maintain accurate spreadsheet of temporarily restricted and unrestricted grants
  • Maintain the fixed asset schedule
  • Work with the external auditor, accountants and Finance Director to prepare for annual audits and annual tax returns
  • Maintain accurate and timely financial data
  • Maintain confidential information
  • Assist with the month-end close process
  • Prepare monthly and as needed financial reports to the CEO, Board, and staff
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Passion for Green For All's mission and a strong desire to impact a growing and dynamic organization
  • 2+years of nonprofit accounting experience
  • AA in accounting or equivalent experience may be substituted
  • Professional and resourceful style with ability to work both independently and as a team, and ability to take initiative and manage multiple tasks and projects at a time
  • Flexible personality to adapt to changing environment
  • Proficiency with the current version of QuickBooks and Microsoft Office applications, especially Word, Excel, and databases is required. Experience with ADP EZ-Labor time tracking system is helpful. Proficiency with Intuit Assisted Payroll service is desirable

Compensation: Commensurate with experience, excellent benefits package.
