Position Overview:
The Donor Records Coordinator will assume responsibility for maintaining and distributing information to support Environmental Defense's development and fundraising efforts. S/he will oversee day-to-day maintenance of data systems to assure the integrity of donor and prospect records, ensuring that data is accurately recorded and readily retrievable. S/he will implement projects that require retrieval and sharing of development information with other departments and regional staff.
Responsibilities:
- Working with the Director of Donor Records to oversee a proactive strategy for tracking development activity and information including gift recording, updating biographical data, contact management, income projections and crediting and all other development-related data.
- Extract, analyze, reconcile and distribute data on donor giving and other development activities.
- Manage acknowledgement process that ensures timely recognition of donor gifts.
- Provide gift officers with data to develop income projections, track progress against goals.
- Reconcile income records between development and accounting.
- Produce and distribute regular and periodic donor contact reports for analysis.
- Provide ad hoc reports and queries as requested.
- Help develop and maintain tracking systems for campaigns and matching challenges and other special funds.
- Oversee an effort to compile electronic records of historical information from hard files and other sources.
- Manage data gathering for the annual report listings and other donor recognition projects.
- Perform other tasks and duties as assigned by Director of Donor Records.
Qualifications:
- College degree, with relevant experience, preferably in a Development operation.
- Must have fundraising software and donor records maintenance experience.
- Understanding of query and report writing language.
- Advanced analytical skills.
- Familiarity with basic finance and accounting practices.
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Ability to perform well in fast-pace, multi-task workplace with changing priorities and tight deadlines.
- Must be self-motivated, creative, and attentive to details.
- Excellent communication skills with enthusiasm for team approach and problem-solving.
