Position Overview:
ATMI is seeking a Senior Technologist with chemical formulation experience to develop new products and create intellectual property as related to wet processing in solar and semiconductor applications. In this hands-on role, you will be the lead researcher working independently in the lab or as a team directing technicians while adhering to project timelines and presenting out progress to customers and senior management. This position will report to the Manager of Research and Development and will be located in Danbury, Connecticut.
Responsibilities:
- Lead solar and semiconductor related projects to develop new formulation products to meet customer process solution needs;
- Responsible for defining, executing and meeting project technical milestones and deliverables;
- Utilize high productivity development (HPD/combinatorial) tools and Design of Experiment for screening and development of new products;
- Communicate effectively with customers and cross-functional teams around the globe;
- Coordinate interactions with cross-functional teams such as Analytical, Applications, Scale-up and Marketing;
- Develop and deliver presentations for customers and cross-functional team leaders;
- Develop innovative technology and create intellectual property on new products and ideas;
- Maintain safe working environment;
- Ability to travel up to 15% globally.
Qualifications:
Education/Experience:
- M.S. or Ph.D. in organic/inorganic chemistry, physical chemistry, electrochemistry, material science or chemical engineering;
- 5+ years of experience in chemical formulations development or semiconductor related cleaning applications;
- Interfacial science knowledge and experience with respect to solid/liquid interactions;
- Proven success in launching new products;
- Understanding of formulation target requirements such as cost limitations, materials impact on manufacturing processes and toxicity and environmental safety;
- Demonstrated ability to work with marketing departments to help to prioritize projects, and to assist in synthesizing customer needs into tangible project deliverables;
- Excellent oral and written communication skills to keep team members, management, and others up to date on project milestones;
- Experience with effectively communicating technical propositions and value to customers directly in customer meetings and in conferences/symposiums;
- Project management experience, with a track record of planning, driving and executing projects;
- You may be required to satisfy applicable U.S. regulations trade control requirements.
