Description

International Rivers supports communities around the world seeking to stop destructive dams and promote better methods of meeting needs for water, energy and protection from floods.

This meeting, which will be held in October 2010 in Temacapulin, Mexico, will bring together representatives from hundreds of organizations, dam-affected people, and experts from across the globe to share experiences and information, network, develop collective strategies and strengthen the international movement to protect rivers and human rights.

Since the 1st and 2nd international meetings, much has changed in the dam development and finance industries, and in the international and regional river networks. At this critical time of financial crisis, global warming, and the desperate need for new clean energy sources, this meeting will help the global river protection movement develop joint strategies to confront new challenges and leverage new opportunities.
