Position Overview:

RSG is looking to find the right professional for its Finance and Administration Director.  The successful candidate will have a minimum of 8 - 12 years consulting experience in the finance, accounting, and/or general administration field.  The candidate will have led consulting project teams that have analyzed finance and accounting systems, developed business solutions, and implemented them in a variety of different client settings.  A broad knowledge of finance and accounting processes and procedures is required as well as being able to adapt and implement improvements for a growing project based consulting company.

This position reports to the CFO and will work closely with the president as well as the RSG's partners and project managers.  RSG is rapidly expanding, moving from a regional to a national footprint and is looking for a finance and administration professional to help facilitate and accelerate this growth.

Responsibilities: 

The essential responsibilities and duties for this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Strong understanding of accounting and financial principles and practices as they apply to a project based consulting firm
  • The ability to analyze current financial and contract processes  and implement changes to match the complexity and growth of the company
  • Function with minimal tactical direction; manage Partner expectations and guide and direct staff, including ‘rolling up the sleeves' when necessary to get the work done
  • Knowledge of consulting contracts and projects to assist project managers in making sound financial decisions
  • Implement changes to ensure staff is motivated and succeed in their implementation; strong communication and listening skills are critical

Financial Systems and Accounting:

  • Analyze current finance and accounting processes and adapt them to RSG's rapidly growing client base and diversity of consulting projects (QuickBooks Pro software)
  • Implement process changes using change management principles in order to increase speed of acceptance and implementation of the full and proper range of the improvements
  • Develop investment management strategies and tax policies; manage lines of credit
  • Establish and maintain accounting procedures including a QA process to ensure accuracy of the financial data and, in particular, client billing/invoicing
  • Create project manager financial information processes that will help client project managers determine project profitability, project performance, and associated risk indicators
  • Oversee AR/AP processes including employee reimbursement
  • Prepare monthly financial reporting regarding company profitability, cash flow, etc.
  • Manage relationships with payroll service, banking, and other financial partners

Contract Management:

  • Develop tracking and monitoring processes for sub-contractors including contract conditions and pricing, insurance, and performance tracking
  • Oversee facility management and lease negotiation
  • Assist with client proposal development to ensure consistency and accuracy of pricing, budgeting, and monitoring
  • Work with RSG project managers to ensure contract compliance, develop and manage client billing processes, subcontractor time, and expense tracking

Administration:

  • Oversee the management of benefit offerings and communication with employees
  • Assist in development, implementation and maintenance of corporate policies and procedures including employee handbook
  • Assist CFO in the management of overall compensation
  • Manage staff development plan to match future growth needs and oversee the performance management process
  • Supervise the hiring process within the company

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting/Finance or equivalent required, Masters of Business Administration preferred.
  • A minimum of 8-12 years consulting experience in the finance, accounting, and/or general administration field.
  • Payroll experienced preferred

Salary Range: $80,000-$130,000 DOE
