The Green Building Certification Institute, a separately incorporated entity with the support of the U.S. Green Building Council responsible for credentialing programs related to green building practices as defined by industry systems such as the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED®) Green Building Rating SystemsTM, is seeking a curriculum and test development professional to coordinate with key staff and committees regarding test activity; including the development and implementation of test security standard operating procedures and policies.

Position Overview:

The Manager for Certificate Programs will work closely with the Test Development Director and the Vice President of Credentialing to manage and support the design, development, and administration of GBCI certificate programs.

The Manager for Certificate Programs will be responsible for the coordination of certificate program content and scope with the current and planned credentialing programs to prevent duplication or overlap. The manager will work to promote the validity, quality and recognition of GBCI certificate programs from external sources when appropriate.

Responsibilities:

GBCI Certificate Program:

  • Manage and support all functional areas of the design, development and delivery of certificate programs for GBCI.
  • Coordinate the criteria for program design with the Test Development Director to assure that certificate programs do not duplicate or overlap with credentialing programs.
  • Provide analysis of current green building industry education and training programs that support the GBCI mission.
  • Provide liaison with educational and training representatives in content areas to assure competency measures and training/educational goals and objectives are aligned.

Test Administration:

  • Coordinate with examination vendor on all test development activities
  • Prepare and deliver test administration plans and schedules
  • Coordinate with examination vendor and key staff to ensure consistency and quality of product line
  • Coordinate development of program design components with educational and training representatives for valid measures of assessment that are appropriate to the content, level, and practice setting of the certificate

Policy and Procedures:

  • Assist in the development and documentation of all policies and procedures which govern the programs in this area
  • Assist senior staff in budget development
  • Staff liaison to all certificate related task forces and committees
  • Manage certificate development associate staff, including performance evaluations and give input to training activities
  • Assist with strategic plan development

Related Organizational Goals and Objectives (optional but preferred):

  • Will assist with strategically positioning GBCI in the marketplace
  • Deliver program excellence
  • Strategically expand international capacity

Qualifications:

Education & Training Requirements/Preferences:

  • Bachelor's degree

Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years test development experience
  • 3 years of experience in instructional design for adults advancing their professional goals preferred
  • Experience with curriculum design and development concepts

Other Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with training objectives and measurement of outcomes
  • Experience with CE (continuing education), IACET (Int. Assn. of Cont. Ed. & Trng), and other measures for qualification of continuing education
  • Familiarity and understanding of test measurement standards (APHA, ERA, etc.)
  • Familiarity with ANSI standards and NOCA criteria for certificate programs
  • Excellent qualitative and quantitative skills
  • Exceptional communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to manage and find solutions to difficult situations and respond in a timely and professional manner
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work well under pressure
  • Detail-oriented with ability to prioritize and multitask
  • Ability to work well independently and as a member of a team
  • Proficiency in Microsoft SQL, assist in creation of data base flow diagrams
  • Strong ability to interface with technical staff
