Green Business Auditor

Urban Solutions is looking for a self-motivated and detail-oriented Green Business Auditor who will support the Green Business Program Manager in conducting green audits for small and medium sized businesses.

Our Green Business program educates and assists Bay Area businesses on why and how to "green" their businesses. The Green Business Auditor will develop the program's client base, conduct site visits of local businesses and create customized financial and environmental reports for clients. He/she will work both collaboratively and independently, and will provide direct client services.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct site visits, follow-up research, and create detailed report of recommendations for clients.
• Conduct follow-up visits to assist clients with implementing recommendations
• Work directly with Green Business Program Manager to market the Green Business Program
• Help achieve the department's annual performance goals, which include completing a specified number of company audits in a timely manner and within budget.
• In coordination with Program Manager, determine audit objectives and scope of assigned audits.
• Assist in developing reusable tools and templates to facilitate and increase efficiency of serving future clients
• Help disseminate and expand upon green business information (San Francisco Dept. of the Environment Green Business Program, best practices, rebates, incentives, vendors, service providers, etc...)
• Cultivate relationships with other environmental nonprofits, government agencies and businesses.

Qualifications:

• Experience conducting audits in one or more areas: energy efficiency, water conservation, waste diversion, toxics reduction, green purchasing
• Familiarity with sustainable business practices and clients
• Experience conducting quantitative analysis, and product research
• Ability to present audit findings and recommendations to audit team
• Experience in sales
• Excellent interpersonal skills and customer service
• Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, and Internet research tools
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• College Degree: preferred major Environmental Studies

Additional Skills Desired:

• Interest in and familiarity with sustainable business practices and "greening" the local economy
• Basic awareness of and familiarity with auditing tools used to measure resource and equipment usage.
• Familiarity with local energy, water, and waste utilities
• Ability to speak Spanish, Mandarin, Cantonese, Vietnamese, Arabic or Guajarati
• Graduate Degree

This position will be funded through the JOBS NOW program.

JOBS NOW Requirements:

This position will be funded through the Jobs Now program. This government funded program puts underemployed and unemployed parents into good jobs, and pays the employers the cost of their wages.
